After the engine update (changes to faction wars update, can't recall the number), the AI and Player characters move, react, and generally operate at two different speeds. As other community members have noted before, the AI is often able to attack after a string (whether it lands or not) before you can block, or fire off SPs before you can activate one upon them tagging in. Whether or not that it's intended (and I really hope it's not because it's frustrating and feels unfair) it's most noticeable with MK11 Jade's passive. When it procs for the AI opponent, I slow down enough for her to land almost an entire string by the time I can respond again, but when it procs for me while using her, I can't even counter before they're already moving again, effectively making it worthless for the player.
I hadn't encountered too many issues with the faction wars matchmaking, but this has made it almost unplayable for me. Some characters (Cyrax, Shao Khan) are now so slow that they're basically unusable in comparison to AI characters. You nearly have to use unblockable equipment to keep the AI from instant countering your attacks. PLEASE change this back... I actually enjoyed the gameplay in this game, but it's barely playable now.
