There have been many new members (many of whom might be old players but they have joined the forum recently) who had trouble participating on conversations, because of the terms and abbreviations that most of us are using in general discussion.
After some time most of us get accustomed to them anyway, but I tried to put them all together in order for newer members to hop in more easily.
First of all here's the characters' abbreviations spread sheet (not my work) which you can have on a different tab of your browser and check whenever there's an abbreviation you don't know
NR: Netherrealm characters
OW: Outworld characters
MA: Martial Artist characters
EG: Elder God characters
SO: Spec Ops characters
Nomad: Class which can join any other class
AI : Artificial intelligence. The game's mechanics which control our opponents in every mode of the game.
FW: Faction Wars. The online mode on which the AI uses other players' accounts.
BR: Blood Rubies. The red currency of the game, with which we can buy chararacters and Equipment from the FW store.
FW store: Faction Wars Store
TT: talent tree.
SKT: Shao Kahn tower.
RH : Relic Hunt. The mode which gives fragments (purple currency) to unlock RH exclusive Diamond cards.
TYL: test your luck. The mini-game when you log-in to the game for the first time each day.
EAP : Early Access pack. The pack for the upcoming challenge's chararacter which costs real money.
NRS: Netherrealm Studios. The company which runs the game.
Devs: Developers. The people who make the game.
Mods: the moderators of the forum
RNG: Random Number Generator. The mechanics of the game which control what comes out of the packs we buy.
OP : original poster. The first guy who posted the thread you're reading.
OP : overpowered. The term describes some Characters.
(You have to distinguish the two OPs by the context)
The packs we buy:
EP : Elite Pack. The one that costs 360 souls and gives Diamonds.
CP : Challenge Pack. The one that costs 320 souls.
Kombat pack: the one that costs 150 souls.
Kard pack : the one that costs 30.000 gold koins and gives silvers and 3 golds.
(Kombat pack and Kard have the same abbreviation (KP) so it's mostly avoided)
EQP : Equipment pack. The one that costs 70.000 gold koins.
Booster pack/Exclusive Kombat pack: Kombat pack, which contains except the other Kombat pack chararacters an extra exclusive chararacter who isn't in the regular one. These packs are of limited time and until now they have contained SOSC/RVJ/SJV
(In order for us not to write zeros all the time, we use the letter "k". 30k=30.000, 70k= 70.000 and so on)
Most equipment doesn't have abbreviations, but there are some widely used, no-brainer pieces which are mentioned so often that a short way of writing them was needed:
WH : Wrath Hammer. Boost attack and gives +1 bar of power.
BT : Bloody Tomahawk. FW store
Dev : Devastator. FW store.
BLF : Blaze's life force. FW store
BSA: Bloody Shokan Armor. FW store
BVD : Bloody Voodoo Doll. FW store.
BA : Body Armor. Cassie Cage's armor.
ST: Subtle tattoo. Johnny Cage's accessory
SM: Soul Medallion. Ermac's accessory
SH: Storm hat. Raiden's armor.
SA: Saurian Armor. Reptile's armor.
BF: Bladed fans. Kitana's weapon.
RHB: Red head band. Liu kang's accessory.
Stats: statistics. The card's attack, health, toughness etc..
Card: the quick way to say chararacter.
Soloer: A card that has good basic attacks and can solo into a fight.
Tank: A card that because of its passive, timing, health can stay into the fight for long periods of time and/or absorb great amounts of damage.
Meatbag: A relatively bad card which can be used to protect the other teammates and you don't care if it dies in the fight or not.
Sp1, Sp2, Sp3: the specials that the cards perform.
hp: health points. The card's health.
Buffs: good things that the cards do for themselves.
Debuffs: bad things that the cards do to the opponents.
E0-E7 (EVII) : Elite 0-7 [it can be E10 (EX) for equipment]. It's how many copies of the same card are fused together.
lvl: level (of a card). lvl50 is the maximum.
Maxed : card or Equipment. Maxed cards are E7 and lvl50. Maxed equipment are E10.
Meta : (high-meta, mid-meta, low-meta) it's the term which is used to indicate certain cross-points of the game. To make long story short, it's used to indicate how high-end a card is in terms of passive and stats and how well it can cope in high fusion faction wars.
Poopers/fluffers: hackers. People who have hacked the game to boost their teams beyond leagal points or to aquire unreleased cards.
Fly/flyers/mkx airlines: people who take advantage of game's flaws in order to cheat through packs
Hope it was helpful. Now have some fun 😎
